Sangkuriang 

In ancient times, the land of Parahyangan was ruled by a king and queen who had a son named Dayang Sumbi. Dayang Sumbi was a spoiled child and when one day, she was spinning the yarn and the yarn fell down until she got angry and swore that anyone as long as it was a man who wanted to take her spun she would accept him as her husband. As soon as he finished taking the oath, a male dog named Tumang came and handed the spun into Dayang Sumbi's hands.

Because of his oath, he married Tumang, a powerful dog. They also live happily and are blessed with a child in the form of a human named Sangkuriang. Sangkuriang has supernatural powers like his father and he only knows Tumang as a loyal dog.

Sangkuriang lived in the forest with his mother Dayang Sumbi because he was expelled from his kingdom and a dog named Tumang who was his cursed father. One time Sangkuriang went hunting because his mother wanted deer liver. It was getting late but he still didn't get the deer. Finally he had a bad idea. Sangkuriang slaughtered Tumang and brought home the heart of the dog. Then his mother asked about the dog and his mother was furious to know that Tumang had been killed by Sangkuriang. Sangkuriang was expelled.

Long time no see, his mother is still beautiful and they fall in love with each other. In the course of their love, his mother finds out that Sangkuriang is her son. His mother tried various ways to part with Sangkuriang. Finally his mother told Sangkuriang to build a big boat for him to sail with Dayang Sumbi but had to finish before dawn. Sangkuriang almost finished, but fate said otherwise. Her mother thought her time was up. Sangkuriang got angry and kicked the boat upside down and is now Tangkuban Perahu.
